I'm also surprised there isn't a "skip forward/backwards X minutes" function associated with the front control ring. "Cut" uses the scroll wheel to move the video around, which I'm surprised isn't the way it's done on the normal playback menu. You can play from any part you end up at through this adjustment, but when in the Cut subsystem, there truly is no sound. Why didn't they just put this in the normal playback menu? There is a SUPER convenient scroll system there that is very responsive. So, for example, if you slightly overshot your target and want to go back say 10 seconds, it takes almost 10 seconds for the control to ramp up to a higher speed.Īnother great trick, though, if you're just looking to scan through the video without sound, is to go to the Cut menu. The reason it's inconvenient is that it always starts out in slow-motion if you let go of the button for just a split second. It'll start in slow motion, but then after a few seconds the video will skip more and more, eventually skipping anywhere between 10s and 2 min per increment of the video shown. You can fast forward by holding down the Next Frame button. Just thought that since I didn't know about it even after having an s90 and s95 for over a year, other people might appreciate hearing about it.Ī fast forward and fast rewind, it's just not too convenient. The s95 lets you turn the volume to 0 on some sounds - Start-up Vol., Operation Vol., Selftimer Vol., and Shutter Volume - but the camera will still make a "beep beep" sound every time you take a picture unless you turn Mute to "On". Retail WoW 8.2 Patch 8.2 broke the way this addon originally worked and so has had to be reworked. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to turn off the other sounds on the camera while still leaving the video sound on. Comments (799) Files Images Relations Classic WoW Since the release of TBC the new MuteSoundFile API was added to the classic client, the retail version now works for both versions. I tested it out myself just now - yup, if I record a video and talk at the camera, then turn mute off, then play back the video, I can hear the sound from the video through the camera's speaker. I have mute set to 'On' permanently as I don't need to hear annoying sound effects when shooting, but I often forget this on the rare occasions I shoot movies and wonder where the soundtrack has gone 'Mute' will cut out all sounds coming from the camera including the audio recorded in movies. ![]() Today in another thread someone else point out that I was wrong (well they pointed out you could do it). I had always thought that the s95 could not play back sound when you played back videos in review mode - I would play back a video, and no sound.
